In 2015 journal celebrates 50th anniversary. The central event of the anniversary year was a symposium of the journal “Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds” which was held in the framework of international event “Drug discovery conference” organised by InnovaBalt project in Riga, August 27-29, 2015. About 300 participants from 25 countries participated in the conference. Special issue of “Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds” (Vol.51, Nr.7, 2015) was prepared to this event and disseminated to the participants of conference. Recruited InnovaBalt scientists and researchers who have taken part in the InnovaBalt outgoing visits are among the authors of articles. Besides, this number of journal includes the article dedicated to Academician Solomon Hiller, founder of Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis in his 100th anniversary and information about InnovaBalt project.
